Daily Bible Study
A. GOD SPEAKS THROUGH THE BIBLE.
1. Jesus is God's revelation of himself( John 1:18; Heb.1:1-2 ).
2. Jesus is revealed in the Bible( 1 Cor. 2:16 ).
B. WE ARE TOLD TO "DRAW NIGH" UNTO GOD( James 4:8 ).
1 Can we do this without Bible study?
2. Do we have the right attitude toward study?
3. Do we have a knowledge of the most profitable methods?
C. LONG TERM GOAL - BECOME BETTER STUDENTS SO WE MIGHT
INDEPENDENTLY WHAT IS VITAL AND IMPORTANT.
D. SHORT TERM GOALS:
1. Develop in our lives a hungering for the word.
2. Learn better methods of Bible study.
3. Learn to rely on the scriptures for the answer to problems.
A. WE "WALK BY FAITH"( 2 Cor. 5:7; Rom. 1:17; 10:17; 1 John 5:4 ).
B. TEMPTATION( Mat. 4:1-10; 1 John 2:13-14 ).
C. DEFENSE( 1 Pet. 3:15; Jude 3; 2 Tim. 4:1-4 ).
D. TEACHING( Heb. 5:12; 2 Tim. 2:2; James 3:1 ).
E. MATURITY( 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Phil. 1:8-11 ).
F. 2 Tim. 2:15.
G. Deut. 6:1-2, 4-9; 32:46-47; Psa. 1:1-2; 19:7-11.
H. John 8:31-32; 17:17; 1 Pet. 2:1-2; Acts 20:32.
A. MEMORIZATION:
1. Makes more careful of the detail & precision of each verse.
2. The passage stays with us longer & is useful to us later.
3. Col. 3:16; Psa. 119:11; John 15:7.
B. MEDITATION:
1. "Give thought to, think on, speak to one's self." Ruminate.
2. Psa. 1; 119:97; Deut. 6:6-9; Phil. 4:8.
C. COMBINE MEMORIZATION AND MEDITATION. FIND A KEY VERSE
EACH DAY.
A. DO WE STUDY AS WE SHOULD?
B. DO WE UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF IT?( John 6:68 ).
