1. For what soothes them (2 Tim. 4:3-4).
2. For human opinion – what seems right (Prov. 16:25).
3. For emotionalism called something else.
B. GOD INTENDS TO SAVE US THROUGH THE GOSPEL.
A. GOD’S PLAN INVOLVES PREACHING (1 Cor. 1:21_).
B. James 1:22; 2 Thess. 2:13-14.
C. THE GOSPEL’S POWER IS IN THE INFO IT CONTAINS (Rom. 1:17; John 8:32).
1. It reveals Jesus to us (2 Pet. 1:2).
2. It tells of the crucifixion (1 Cor. 2:1-4; 1:22-25).
3. It instructs us:
a. how to respond to grace (Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:38).
b. how to live daily (Titus 2:11-12; 2 Tim. 3:16-17).
4. It explains salvation and OT prophecy (1 Pet. 1:10-12).
A. SPOKEN OF AS A MYSTERY (1 Cor. 2; Eph. 3).
1. Preached (1 Cor. 2:12-13).
2. Written (Eph. 3:3-5)
3. Revealed ( Rom. 1:16-17).
B. THE SPIRIT’S WORK IS HERE!
A. LEAVES NOTHING OUT IN REGARD TO SPIRITUAL NEEDS.
1. All Things ( 2 Pet. 1:3 ).
2. Perfect Law ( James 1:25).
B. CONTRASTED WITH MAN’S WISDOM ( Col. 2:8).
1. Man’s wisdom insufficient ( Jer. 10:23; Prov. 14:12 ).

C. THE GOSPEL ENDURES (1 Pet. 1:25; Matt. 24:35).
