What Manner of Man?
A. WHAT KIND OF MAN WAS JESUS?
1. The disciples saw sign after sign and wondered – Miracles.
2. Understandably amazed at his works and his words.
3. Others were also amazed (John 3:1-2; 7:45-46; 4:39-42).
B. WHAT MANNER OF MAN?
1. Just a legend? He is a historical fact.
2. Just a good man? A great teacher? Leader? Prophet? Is that all?
C. WE NEED TO STUDY THE GREAT QUALITIES OF JESUS LEST WE TAKE THEM
FOR GRANTED OR DISBELIEVE.
A. A HUMAN BIRTH (Luke 2:1-7; Gal. 4:4).
B. DEVELOPED AS A HUMAN (Luke2:40, 51-52).
C. WITH HUMAN DESIRES AND EMOTIONS:
1. Mental – love, anger, joy, sorrow, dread, …LUST (Luke 22:15 – Heb. 4:15).
2. Physical – Hunger (Matt. 4:1-2), thirst (Luke 19:28), fatigue, pain …
D. THE SON OF MAN.
1. Prophetic sense (Luke 9:44; 19:10; John 6:62).
2. His connection to us (John 5:25-27).
E. NECESSARY (Heb. 2:9-18).
A. VIRGIN BIRTH (Matt. 1:21-23; Luke 1:26-35).
B. ETERNAL (John 8:58; 1:1-3, 14).
C. SON OF GOD (John 10:30-36; 5:17-18).
1. Inspired testimony (Matt. 3:17; 17:5; 2 Pet. 1:16-18; Rom. 1:4).
2. Uninspired testimony (John 3:1-2).
D. JESUS AND GOD.
1. The form of God (Phil. 2:5-8).
2. The image of his substance (Heb. 1:3, 8-9 ).
A. HE RAISED THE DEAD (John 11:39-44). POWER OVER DEATH!
B. THE QUESTION OF JOHN (Matt. 11:2-6).
C. HEALED THE SICK, STILLED THE STORM (John 3:1-2; Acts 2:22; Matt. 8:27).
D. ENEMIES COULD NOT DENY (Matt. 12:22-24; John 12:42-43; 11:47-53).
A. THIS HE DEMONSTRATED ON EARTH (Mark 2:5-11).

C. THRU A SUFFICIENT SACRIFICE.

2. For all men (Titus 2:11-12; 1 John 2:1-2).
3. Redeemed by his blood (Eph. 1:7; Heb. 9:11-12).
D. HOW DO WE CONTACT THE BLOOD (Rom. 6:3-4).
A. HE IS THE STANDARD BY WHICH WE ARE TO BE JUDGED:
1. His life (Acts 17:30-31).
2. His word (John 12:48).
B. VENGEANCE OF THE DISOBEDIENT (2 Thess. 1:7-9).
C. HE WANTS TO SAVE (1 Tim. 2:6; Luke 19:10).
D. HIS SAVING POWER – THE GOSPEL MESSAGE (Rom. 1:15-17).
